VITA FREE INCOME TAX PREPARATION

 

What is VITA?

VITA stands for Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program. It is a partnership between CACLV and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) that enables tax payers to file their taxes at no cost and to use their refunds for asset building.

Who does VITA help?

The VITA program helps low to moderate income working families, many of who qualify for the Earned Income Tax Credit and the Child Tax Credit.

How does VITA help?

By recruiting volunteers who are certified by the IRS to prepare federal, state, and local income tax returns and electronically file them for free. Last year this VITA program served over 1200 households and brought over $1,700,000 in refunds back to our local community's economy.

Where are the sites located?

There are currently four VITA locations served by the CACLV VITA Program. They are located in Bethlehem, Allentown, Easton and Mt. Bethel.

When can you have your taxes prepared?

Taxpayers need to bring the following items with them to their appointment:
